Bleed From Within - Alive

It's been some time since we were treated to the last full release from Scotland based Bleed From Within. To be exact its been almost five years since the last, and it's fair to say they've stepped up their abilities and brought a whole new side of themselves to this, the first single from the upcoming fourth album; Era. This is Alive.

From the echoes of their last album, Uprising, we are brought all of the metal/deathcore brutality that we've come to associate with the Glaswegians, and Alive is no different. It's powerful in its delivery on all fronts, each part working in harmony to create the epic that is it. A big difference for me is that they seem to have gone back to their groove influences somewhat and taken inspiration from bands like Heart Of A Coward and incorporated this into their almost thrash/metalcore state of being.

The other thing, besides some stylist differences, I wanted to mention was the structure. The song is well arranged, with good balance and a lack of expectation. I was constantly surprised on first listen and the beat-down in the last minute or so, for me, was a perfect addition. It's not crammed full of vocals at every opportunity but cleverly laced with effective and well thought out verses.

Overall it's a good start, and has certainly peaked my interest for the full albums release in a couple of months time. Come back for a full run down of what I'm sure will be a colossal piece of work.
