Here we are, January is almost over and I'm surely not the only one around who can't wait for this shite month to be over. Well if you're looking for something to kill those January blues you are in EXACTLY the right place! Just a couple of days ago we were introduced to the first single from new album, the awesome Swarm.
Taken from their upcoming third album Braille, Swarm is something we've rarely seen from this band before. They've retained all the expected darkness and aggression but seem to have upgraded and integrated the more emotional parts of their work from previous releases and to me, have really utilised it to its fullest. The remorseful nature of Josh McKeown's chorus vocals allow a glimpse of the emotional depth of the band and himself. Not that we haven't been treated to this before but we all know that its not the first thing we associate with Palm Reader.
Its their raw power and energy, in it's most visceral and honest form, that is so compelling and jaw dropping about this band. It's really a great blend of their work, it takes in all that they are and have been up to this point, and says, this is us (completely, unashamedly us). I'm hoping that this song is an example of what we have to look forward to. 100%, unrelenting Palm Reader. It's all I want.

Palm Reader are easily one of the most over looked bands in the UK. This talented group deserve a lot more than they've gotten and I feel it's for the same reason that they have been overlooked. At no point have I ever questioned their drive, their purpose. They have, seemingly, been focused on writing music that they believe in and unwilling to succumb to the mainstream hardcore elements which saturate the genre. They are completely unique and I believe that wholeheartedly.
